These are people who have volunteered many
hours over the years. Because of the amount of expertise we are getting from ttiem, Mr. Flynn
said he feels it would be well worth the fee.
Mr. Ferrante said he is under the impression this they were not looking for any more money.
Mr. Basile said his brother-in-law said there was no need for it. Mr. Flynn said the request came through the Building Commissioner.
Mr. Hovancsek said they could poll various cities and find out the rates they pay their plans
examiners.
Mr. Hovancsek said the Village will need an expert Plans Examiner to sign off that he concurs
Progressive Insurance meets the code. There is a lot of liability to the Plans Examiner. In this
situation, the chazges can be billed back to Progressive Insurance. He said the Village will need
someone with a lot of experience in that particular area.
After a lengthy discussion, Mr. Hovancsek suggested the legislation say "for all non-residential
review". He said Mr. Amendola handles the residenrial things himself.
Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mr. Fixler, made a motion to amend Resolution No. 92-22 to make a
distinction between non-residential and commercial as Mr. Hovancsek suggested.
ROLL CAI.L: AYES: All
NAYS: None Morion Carried
Resolurion Amended
Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 92-22 as amended.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Resolution Adopted
(as amended)
Third Reading of Ordinance No. 92-12, entitled; "An emergency ordinance establishing fees for
members of the Architectural Review Board, Planning and Zoning Commission, and Board of
Zoning Appeals, and amending Section 1305.05." Introduced by Mayor Pietrafese and Council as
a Whole. (First Reading 6/15/92, Second Reading 7/20/92.)
Mr. Flynn said it is an appointed board, rather unique; they aze not employees. This concept was
introduced in February or March and he does not understand why it is being dragged through the
machinery here.
Mrs. Cinco said they have received requests from other people for reconsideration of salary
ordinances, but have asked them to wait until the first of the year. So, to be consistent, she will
vote no tonight.
