213 <br />MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />Mayfield Village <br />?. <br />December 7, 1992 <br />The Councnl of Mayfield Village met in Special Session on Monday, December 7, 1992, at eight <br />o'clock p.m. (8 p.m.) in the Council Chambers at the Village Hall. Council President Bruce <br />Rinker presided. <br />ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Basile, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante, Mr. Fixler, <br />Mr. Flynn, Mr. Rinker <br />Absent: None <br />Also Present Were: Mayor Pietrafese, W. Amendola, Mr. Brett, Mr. Hanculak, Mr. <br />Hovancsek, Chief Mohr, and Miss Heath <br />Mr. Rinker said the meeting was called to consider Ordinance No. 92-46. <br />First Reading of 4rdinance No. 92-46, entided; "An emergency ordinance authorizing and <br />directing the Mayor to enter into a real estate purchase contract with Donald and Carol Norris <br />relative to the purchase of real property located at 640 S.O.M. Center Road, Mayfield Village, <br />Ohio." Introduced by Mayor Pietrafese and Council as a Whole. <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring an <br />ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Canied <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 92-46. <br />Mr. Rinker asked Mayor Pietrafese to give a brief synopsis, then he will open the floor for <br />discussion. <br />Mayor Pietrafese said they were looking into purchasing the Norris property (and cited the location <br />of the property.) He said they made Mr. Norris an offer of $140,000; he countered and said he <br />would accept that offer subject to us paying the closing costs and taxes, and we are allowing the <br />Norris' to live on the property until June 1 st. <br />Mr. Ferramte said he has an objection to paying anything further since we are allowing him to stay <br />in the house rent free for 6-7 months, he can't see why we should have additional costs. Mr. <br />Ferrante said he does not caze how minimal; they are talking an additional$1,500 in taxes plus <br />closing costs. This might be minimal but he thinks the guy might be taking advantage of us. <br />Mayor Pietrafese said it is probably going to be in the neighborhood of an addirional$2,000. <br />Mr. Ferrante said then, let's make him an offer of $138,000. <br />Mr. Rinker asked if anyone had any specific questions.
