., <br />~. <br />July 7, 1980 <br />Hello, my name is and <br />I'm conducting a survey to help Councilpeople Carmen and Spellman <br />decide how to vote on a very important issue. Recently Council- <br />man William Boger resigned his seat on the Village Council. <br />Council now has to appoint his replacement. In order to better <br />represent you, I'd appreciate it if you°d take just a moment to <br />answer 3 questions: <br />1. One of the candidates suggested as a possible <br />replacement for Mr. Boger is Vince Busa. There are two schools <br />of thought with regard to his appointment. One group of people <br />feel that Mr. Busa should be appointed because he is a former <br />councilman and is experienced and because he had the next high- <br />est vote total in the last general election*. <br />The other group of people feel that Mr. Busa <br />should not be appointed because he was defeated in the last <br />general election. These people believe that the Villagers voted <br />Mr. Busa out of office and that Council should not override the <br />will of the people and put him back in Council but rather should <br />allow Mr. Busa to run again if he so chooses in the next general <br />election. <br />How do you feel? <br />2. Here is a list of four possible candidates who <br />have been suggested as replacements for Mr. Boger.
