f? <br />Mr. Amendola stated the ordinance regarding the new subdivisions <br />states that it is the developers responsibility to put in the <br />trees and .tree lawns. He stated that the developer has the <br />impression that since the trees were planted that they have done <br />their job, which is not true. He stated that our understanding <br />of this is a living tree after one year, and that we did not have <br />that many trees after..one year. <br />Further discussion was held. . <br />Mayor Beebe stated that he would like to see a copy of Mr. <br />Marquardt's deed. He stated that, per.sonally, he did not feel. <br />that the Village should plant new trees hoping to be reimbursed. <br />He stated the matters will be_pursued further with the Law <br />Department and discussion wiTl be held at?the July 13 Caucus. <br />Mr. Lewis Gross, President of.the L. N. Gross Company, 701 Beta Dr.ive, <br />stated that he represents a company that was founded in 1898 which <br />moved to Beta Park in the.early 1970's. He stated that-his company <br />is attempting to overcome a routine problem of the appare.l industry, <br />which is disposing of the excess merchandise of a certain season. <br />He stated that while he understands that there is a regulation <br />within Mayfield Village that Beta Park is not to be a re.tail park <br />he hopes that Mayfield Village would consider allowing, on a trial <br />basis only, for.his company to open onc-,a Saturday or Sunday (as not <br />to conflict with traffic patterns) so customers could come to his <br />warehouse and select merchandise. He stated that if'this does not <br />cause any difficulty, he would then like to.hold sales four times <br />a year. <br />Mayor Beebe:stated that Mr. Gross had already discussed this matter <br />with the Planning and Zoning Commission.. He stated that, by a <br />majority vote, the Planning and Zoning Commission had rejected the <br />proposal because they felt this was still against the Village. <br />ordinance and that it might be precedent setting. He stated that <br />the Plaqning and Zoning Commission had suggested that the company <br />hold their sales in the Holiday Inn. <br />Mr. Feneli asked if Mr. Gross had explored the possibility of using <br />the;Holiday Inn, and questioned if Mr. Gross had just mentioned <br />holding sales four times a year. - _.: . <br />Mr. Gross stated that he had.tried to use the.facilities of the-. <br />Holiday Inn previously, but that he.does not feel it is:as <br />satisfactory as would he a sale within their build=ing.- He.. . <br />explained the complications of holding a sale in-anotYier.building <br />and stated that the Holiday Inn requires a six.month notice to= <br />
