Community Building - Mrs
Hanus st
t
d th
t
h
.
a
e
a
s
e was unable to be
here for Village Days and she does not know how successful we
were. She stated that she knows there is almost $10,000.00 in
the fund, enough for us to get started. She asked Mr. Amendola
if the addition could be started.
Mr. Amendola stated that he met with Architect Bud Copper. He
stated that Mr. Copper will make up the drawings for the Fire House
so that that portion of the job can be put out for bids with the
specifications. He stated that after that he will supply us with
sufficient drawings to be able to put in the foundation and raise
the walls of the building. Mr. Amendola stated that they will try
to hold the cost of the preliminary drawings to less than $1,500.00.
Mr. Amendola stated that when the final drawings are made, an
architect will have to be selected. Mr. Amendola stated the Service
Department will start working on the building in about a month.
Mayor Beebe commented that Mrs. Hanus was missed at Village Days.
He stated that he thought that, generally, Village Days was a
success. Mayor Beebe stated that the Service Department has gotten
a good start on the Salt Shed Building already. He stated that the
turnout at the Northern Ohio Street Rods Auto Parts Swap Meet was
not as good as expected, but that it added money to the fund. He
stated that other things are planned; a hayride, halloween party,
fall dance, and an ox roast for the near future.
Mr. Etzler asked Mr. Amendola if the plans were still tentative to
have a roof on the Community Room before Winter.
Mr. Amendola stated a new roof would be put on if it can be started
before the middle of September. He stated that they would not be
able to continue further until the drawings are complete. He stated
the Service Building could continue to be used until the Community
Building is completed.
Mr. Flynn stated that there are two ordinances that require discussion
before starting "New Business" o
Council went into Executive Session at 8:35 p.m., including Chief
Stevens.
The Meeting reconvened at 9:27 p.m.
NEW BUSINESS
Ordinance 81-42, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT
OF A LAW DIRECTOR: ESTABLISHING TERMS, CONDITIONS AND COMPENSATION
FOR SUCH EXPENSES: AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by Mayor
and Council as a Whole.
