Minutes of Finance Committee Meeting held March 17, 1997 <br />Meeting convened at 7:15 P.M. in the Old Council Chambers. <br />Present were Council Member Cinco, Council Member Marquardt and Finance Director Brett <br />1. The Committee discussed the Grubb and Ellis proposal and discussed the question of timing inasmuch as the Village <br />does not yet own the golf course. It was decided to leave the question open until such time as some other matters <br />, regarding the golf course could be resolved. Members of the committee agreed to convey this to the representatives of <br />-- Grubb and Ellis during their presentation this evening. <br />2. The Committee discussed and will recommend approval of Ordinance 97-14 authorizing the Mayor to enter into an <br />agreement with the Guardian Company on a month by month basis until a comprehensive study of the hospitalization <br />and the Health Care Task Force Committee can eaplore dental plan. <br />3. The Committee discussed and will recommend the passage of Ordinance 97-15, which is the 1997 appropriation <br />ordinance. <br />4. The Committee discussed and will recommend approval of the motion authorizing the Mayor to enter into an <br />agreement with Rainbow Coyote for the Fourth of July fireworks show for $8,500. Gates Mills usually undenvrites the <br />costs of the display. <br />5. The Service Director outlined his plans for the 1997 Road Program and discussed the White Road resurfacing project <br />in particular. The Service Director will have White Road proofrolled. Depending on the results of the proofroll, he <br />will seek informal bids for the culverting work on the south side (Village side) of White Road. In addition, the Village <br />will prepare specs and advertise for the 1997 Road Program on a per unit basis so that the program can be tailored to <br />budgetary conditions. <br />6. The Committee discussed the pros and cons of leasing the copier currently being demonstrated in the Police <br />Department and it was detemlined that purchasing the copier was the most practical means of obtaining the necessary <br />copying service. The cost will be $6,995. Ms. Cinco stated that she would amend this evening's Council agenda to <br />, allow for authorization of the purchase. <br />The meeting adjourned at 7:45 P.M.
