Regular Council Meeting <br />5-19-97 <br />Page 3 <br />Safety and Service - Mrs. Cinco said they met May 5. Discussion relative to the Fire Department <br />included: emergency generators for 4 traffic lights, (Committee recommends purchase); clean up <br />of exterior of fire station (more bids are needed); purchase of a jaws tool (on tonight's agenda); <br />proposed amendments to sprinkler ordinance (in front of Ordinance Review); fune capsule <br />(referred to Caucus); Hilicrest Area Arson Agreement - cost is $200/yearly (information should be <br />forthcoming. Beachwood will be joining this group); <br />The Police Department had no items on the S&S agenda. <br />The following items relative to the Service Department were discussed: <br />TractorBack hoe (on tonight's agenda); dump truck, (committee recommends purchase); hot <br />box; (committee recommends purchase); anunal warden; going out for bids for the possible sale of <br />one 1-1 /2 ton truck. All vehicles are in the budget and tractor/back hoe is on the agenda. <br />Finance Committee - Mr. Marquardt reported they met this evening. Discussion included: 1997 <br />SPAN Dues (committee recommends purchase); ordinance levying assessments for the Worton <br />Park neighborhood (7,546.30 per household); jaws of life and new apparatus for the Fire <br />Department,. (this will cost the Village $3,774 after sharing the cost with Gates Mills); discussion <br />of the Audit Review Committee of the final audit report, (the report was generally favorable; <br />there are some items to be acted upon by the Finance Director); wage ordinance; garbage behind <br />the Service Department--mounds of dirt and rubble collected from excavations, etc. It is <br />estimated that clean up will be a$25,000 bill. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Dr. Parker had no report. <br />Historical Societv - Dr. Parker said the log cabin in the basement has been completed. There will <br />be a Vintage Bridal Gown Exhibit at the Historical House every Sunday during June from 1-4 <br />p.m. Admission will be $3. <br />M.A.RC - Mr. Buckholtz said they met the week before last. They will be going ahead with the <br />midget football. We will have 2-4 teams; we will keep Mayfield Village kids playing with <br />Mayfield Village kids. <br />Ordinance Review Committee - NIr. Marquardt said they met on the 13`''. There were two items <br />on the agenda: 1) A sprinkler ordinance - proposed by Chief Mohr to move the access for <br />sprinkler systems for new construction out to the street. The committee.recommends approval of <br />that. It will go on to _I'lanning and Zoning. 2) Exterior lighting - we will gather more <br />information and will discuss this at the next meeting. <br />Planning and Zoning - Mr. Ferrante said the"Workshop meeting of the 15"' was cancelled.
