NlINUTE5 OF A REGULAR NIEETING OF COIJNCIL <br />Mayfield Village <br />July 7, 1997 <br />The Council of Mayfield Village met in regular sessian on Monday, July 7, 1997, at 9:30 p.m. in <br />the Mayfield Village Senior CenterlCommunity Room. Council President Mark Fiyder presided. <br />[Note: The Tax Budget Hearing and Couneil Caucus meetings were held irnmediately prior to <br />this meeting. ] <br />ROLL CALL: Present: NIr. Buckholtz, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante, Mr. Fixler, <br />Mr. Marquardt and Dr. Parker <br />Absent: None <br />Also Present: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Brett, Mr. Diemert, Mr. Hovancsek, <br />Mr. Metzung,lVlr. Samac, Chief Stevens and Miss Heath <br />OPEN I'ORTION <br />Norman Block 6875 Wilson Mills iZoad - said when his street was repaired, a 1%2" piece of <br />asphalt was added to their driveway. He has a steep driveway and this caused it to be raised even <br />more. He tore offthe wires underneath his car when he backed out of his driveway. Mr. Block <br />said the Service Director and Village Engineer have looked at the problem.lVlr. Block said if the <br />Village will fix the lower part of his driveway (2 to 3 feet), he will be satisfied. <br />Mayor Rinker said when this was initially presented to ham, his understanding was this was a <br />condition that existed a number of years before. <br />Mrs. Block sa.id people toid them this was an existing problem; the previous owners did not go <br />through it. The home has had 5 owners in a short period of time. <br />Mayor Rinker said he had recomtnended going 50-50 with them to provide incentives to rectify <br />the problem. <br />Mr. Metzung said if just the lower portion of the driveway is repaired, he is concerned Mr. Block <br />will still have a problem. He thinks the driveway will still be a very steep level. <br />Mr. Block said he thinks it will solve liis problem. <br />Council President Fixler said if we are going to do that, he wants to be sure the plan is acceptable <br />to Mr. Block and that they should sign off on it.
