Regular Council Meeting 8/li/97 Page 4 Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Marquardt said they considered a lighting ordinance and determined it was not necessary at this time. Mr. Samac presented some preliminary results of a check that BOCA had perforxned on the Building Department. It covered procedures, etc. He thinks it is significant because it indicates the direction that is similaz to the ISO 9000 method of evaluating an operation. The benefit on this is lower insurance rates. Mr. Samac said he volunteered for a free audit that will be a mandatory audit next year by ISO. This was just to give us a feel of where we might be. It will be the ISO audit next year. Planning and Zoning - Mr. Ferrante said they met this evening. The parking expansion for Progressive was discussed and it was passed unanimously by Planning and Zoning. However, there were some contingencies (as follows): 1) We would like to have a traffic study; 2) The aesthetics of the building and the landscaping; 3) We would lile to have the parking garage done in stages with the western end being last; and 4) We would like to have the Fire Department's concerns addressed with respect to the stairwell. Recreation Board - Mr. Buckholtz said the Recreation Board met July 16 and discussed some ideas for having a new Halloween Party possibly involving a small part of the Service garage. The Softball Banquet will be held August 20. Mrs. Cinco asked for a report on how camp went this summer. Mr. Buckholtz said Mr. Dasher is preparing a report. Camp was a tremendous success. They will provide an evaluation to Council. Sewer Liaison Committee - There was no report. OLD BUSINESS " • Executive Session Dr. Parker, seconded by Mr. Marquardt, made a motion to recess into Executive Sessionto discuss real estate acquisition.
