COMMISSION ON AGING/ HUMAN SERVICES October 20, 1997
The past month has been a busy one for the Director of Human
Services with a trip to Amish Country for the Senior Gentry October 15,
two major and several minor flu shot registration sessions, and
increased involvement and activity with Meals on Wheels.
I had been asked to address the Hillcrest Rotary regarding
Meals on Wheels which I did last Tuesday at their 7 a.m. meeting.
I also did an assessment on Thursday and am scheduled to do another one
this week for two individuals in Mayfield Village who need their
servicese We currently have six persons in the village receiving
these home-delivered meals.
, As a reminder - the flu shots will be administered Friday,
November 7 between 9 and 11 a.m. in the Community Room. We currently
have about 200 people registered. People with Medicare Part B receive
the vaccine free of charge. Others pay $8.
Cards and Bocce continue to meet Tuesday and Thursday afternoons
respectively. Because of the use of the Community Room for the election
November 4, Cards will meet Thursday, November 6 that week, and Bocce will
be played Tuesday, November 4.
Eunice Kalina,
Director of Human Services
