Special Couneil Meefiung <br />11=10-97 <br />Page 5 <br />Dr. Parker said-he has heard there were-problems with Winbooks-that they needed a iot of <br />repairs. A Toshiba may be better. <br />After a brief discussion, Council President Fixler asked if Council was of a mind to consider tliese <br />items. <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to authorize an expenditure not to exeeed the <br />total amount af $8,000 for the purchase of a laptop computer and color laserjet printer. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />IVlotion Camed <br />Expenditure Authorized <br />Progressive Topsof 1 <br />Mr. Brett said Progressive has #opsoil they will need to get rid of. They can pay to have it taken <br />away--or move it to the golf course property which wouJd save zhem substantial dallars. <br />Mayor Rinker said since we have not fir}alized owr contract with Progressive, he is cmncerned with <br />appearances. He does not know what savungs there would be for Progressive_ There are a <br />number of things we want to be courteous abaut but is .not sure -this is one of them, <br />Mr. I)olence (froffi I'rogressive in the audience) estima#ed it would sa.ve Progressive $70,000 in <br />hauling costs and a week to- a vveek and a half in time. It takes 3 weelcs to dispose of 25,000 <br />cubic yards. By moving the topsoil-tv the .golf course, they cduld cut this time in half. Assuming <br />each truckload wilt hold 16 yards, there wiR be 1,516 truckloads of topsoil. <br />Mayor Rinker thinks the hardest question to answer is what it w1t look like. <br />1'vlr. Dolence said they could pile the soil any way we want. 'I'hey could mound it or shape it. <br />Couacii President Fixler said maybe they could show us a ptan. He requeested they have-the plan <br />before the Regular Council-Meeting (Novembep 17.) <br />Mr. Doience said if they can close on the parceI they control, they are fooking to put it there_ <br />They are trying to get into this parking Iot before winter so they are looking at all possibilities. <br />W. Cappello said that a.maunt of dirt watald prabably measure 300' x] 0' high. <br />1VIjr. Busa asked rf it was topsoil or filI dirt. <br />1VIr. Dolence said it is probably 60-40 now topsoiUfiil; it will get mixed.
