Regular Council Meeting
9-18-00 '
Page 17
that would be decorative, functional and overall be consistent with the theme that we want of having
a community park, a common area, that everyone could enjoy. From the moment those lights were
lit, we have been expletive deletive about the lighting; it is way too much The last word I had (and I
had to force this issue with a representative of the contractor) one way or another (and we are
withholding funds) we are going to reduce the amplitude of the lighting.
Mr. Ilacqua questioned how--by number of poles or the type of lighting.
Mayor Rinker said probably.by the type of lighting. It may be cost effective to remove some of the
center poles and reposition them elsewhere. Until we have an actual lighting plan where you would
position poles, how you would place them, that is something you would have to wait to see. One
way or another, we will reduce the lighting. Most likely, it will be to reduce the ballasts. The last
discussion was had was probably three months ago.
Mrs. Mills said the Aintree Park Homeowner's Association has started meetings again and the
residents in the Eastgate Association will be starting a homeowner's association. Their first meeting
will be on October 17.
Mayor Rinker said the second coating of the pour it in place was put on the playground today. The
colors have come out well; it looks good. There will be a final walk through after it is top dressed
and seeded.
Mr. Ilacqua asked when the kids could play on it.
Mayor Rinker said he would imagine within a few weeks.
Mr. Busa said he agrees with Mayor Rinker said the pool complex is much too lighted. He
wondered if anyone has contacted the airport. It is too much light and he is in favor of adjusting it.
ADJOURNMENT
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Ilacqua, made a motion to adjourn.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried

DONNA J.
