Regular Council Meeting
12-18-00
Page 6
Dr. Parker said the Finance Committee discussed this and it comes out to about $500/month and
they have a few calls a month where they have to come out. As opposed to not having a contract
and having to call someone out, Dr. Parker said he thinks it would be somewhat more expensive
to do it that way in the long run.
Mr. Brett said this allows regular computers to be the terminal emulators for LEADS and CRIS.
Chief Stevens said the hardware is ours but we must maintain it. It has been upgraded several
times. Depending on where the computer glitch occurs when it happens, it could be in a very
critical area which would necessitate an emergency call in. The service fee and hourly rate of a
repairman can add up quickly. This is not a bad insurance premium against those kinds of
problems.
Council President Marquardt asked if there was any further discussion.
There were no comments.
• A motion to authorize an expenditure in an amount not to exceed $5,000 for catering of
the 2001 Appreciation Dinner
Mr. Ilacqua questioned if the amount is correct.
Mrs. Roman said we don't know the exact number of people attending so we are requesting a
higher number. It~is based on a per person rate.
Mr. Buckholtz, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to authorize an expenditure in an
amount not to exceed $5,000 for catering of the 2001 Appreciation Dinner.
Dr. Parker asked if we have to guarantee a minimum number of people. He also questioned the
cost per person, if it includes decorations and if it is in line with what we have paid in the past.
Mrs. Roman said we do not have to guarantee a specific number of people--we estimate between
100 and 120 will attend. There could be as many as 150. The cost is $28.50 per person which
includes table linens and china. It does not cover the flowers. One of the Activities Committee
members volunteers to decorate the flowers [we pay for the materials.] This is a lower cost than
we have paid previously.
Council President Marquardt asked if there was any further discussion.
There were no comments.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Expenditure Authorized
[~
1
