Regular Council Minutes
9-27-04
Page 11
Council President Buckholtz addressed Mr. Brett and asked, so you are satisfied with
these amendments to make it current and correct?
Mr. Brett said yes.
Council President Buckholtz asked, any questions?
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Ordinance Amended
Dr. Parker, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2004-44.
Mr. Brett this is a Tax Incremental Financing Plan to cover the building that is going to
be built-the expansion that is going to be built at the Skoda, Minotti site in the near
future. This will generate additional revenues off of that Beta Drive site that will be
used for a number of public purposes, most noteworthy of which is the widening of
S.O.M., possible improvements to Beta and the possible installation of a fiber network
in and around Beta Drive.
Mayor Rinker said I would also add: historically, this information was the topic of
discussion before both the Board of Zoning Appeals and this Council and the Planning
& Zoning. Commission for discussions regarding Skoda and the expansion. You will
recall there were variances that were granted so this is routing out the total package.
Again, these are, I think, critical methodologies that we apply and we benefit from and
our community benefits from; we definitely will be applying these revenues for a public
purpose.
Dr. Parker said the TIF does not affect the schools.
Mayor Rinker said that is correct; it is neutral.
Council President Buckholtz asked, any other comments?
There were none.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Resolution Adopted
Ordinance No. 2004-33, entitled; "An emergency ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter
into a network services agreement with ONECLEVELAND for the purpose of providing high
speed data communications/1P based connectivity." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and
Council as a Whole. (First Reading 7/19/04, Second Reading 8/16/04)
Council President Buckholtz asked do we want to leave it on second read---
