Regular Council Meeting Minutes <br />5-18-09 <br />Page 3 <br />COMMENTS FROM MAYOR RINKER: <br />There were no comments <br />COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT BiJCKHOLTZ: <br />There were no comments. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS: <br />SERVICE - Douglas Metzung <br />Mr. Metzung stated that the only thing he has tonight is to request a straw vote for authorization <br />to go out to bid for street striping. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked Council if they have a problem with going out to bid for <br />street striping. There was no obj ection. <br />Mrs. Mills asked if you need a motion for that. Mr. Metzung said he does not really think we <br />need it now. <br />Council President Buckholtz said we will bring it to the agenda when you have some <br />information. It sounds good. <br />BUILDING - John Marrelli <br />Mr. Marrelli provided an update on the police station project. As of Friday at Noon, we received <br />13 proposals on our Request for Proposals for the Design-Build Project. The review process will <br />now begin. <br />ENGINEERING - Tom Cappello <br />Mr. Metzung reported in Mr. Cappello's absence that the advertising for bids for the Seneca <br />Road Rehabilitation Project will be in this Thursday's newspaper. <br />LEGAL DEPARTMENT - Mr. Diemert <br />Mr. Diemert reported that the public records law, House Bill 9, requires that there be a training <br />session for all elected and re-elected officials during their term of office. A designee can be <br />appointed. A motion is on the agenda authorizing the designation of Mary Beth. There will be a <br />training session hosted by Council Clerk Debra Hladky from Oakwood Village this Thursday at <br />Mayfield Village. It will be run by the Auditor of State's office. If anyone has any questions <br />about authorizing the designation, Mr. Diemert will comment on it at that time.
