Regular Council Meeting Minutes 6-15-09 Page 10 ARCHITECT - Ron DiNardo There was no report. HUMAN SERVICES - Eunice Kalina There was no report. STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS: Activities Committee - Mrs. Mills reported that we did a run down on the Pancake Breakfast. We have the summer concerts all in place. Cruise Night, of course, was Saturday night which was wonderful. Our Service Department has to be commended for their work before, during and after. It is just fantastic, you never know anything happened here. When residents are telling you that they go through the Village in the morning and they can't find any debris, that's pretty good. Mr. Thomas said, you forgot to mention the two Safety Services. Mrs. Mills said, the police have a lot of fun. The Activities Committee appreciates everyone's work here. The volunteers especially. Our fireworks are on July Sth. We did discuss the Community Garden and there is an article in the Rec bulletin and the Voice of the Village about any interest in the gardens before we go forward with that. Our next meeting will be June 24th. We have a lot of other things to discuss at that time also. Architectural Review Soard - Mr. Marrelli reported that there was no meeting, so there is no report. Beautifieation Committee- Mr. Saponaro reported that there is a meeting coming up on June 29t . On May 26` , there was a ceremony for the children who participated in the Keep Mayfield Village Clean program, which is a program that was adopted by the Mayfield Schools. They had posters that were displayed here at the Civic Center. We had a separate reception. Mr. Saponaxo was not able to make it due to a death in his family. Bill and Patsy came. Thank you. People from the Committee were there and were able to speak. Dr. Price was there. There were some of the Principals there. The children take it very seriously. The art teacher really thinks it's a great part of the curriculum. We are happy to be a part of that. It was very well received. Of course we will do it again next year. Our next meeting is Monday, June 29th at 7:00 p.m. in Civic Hall. We will be concentrating on the memorial benches. Hopefully we will get the word out regarding that. The baskets have been picked up and have been placed. The container gardens look beautiful. Mayor Rinker said, a lot of feedback, very very good. Mr. Saponaro said we have been hearing a lot of good feedback from them, the colors and so forth. People are really happy. When they first went up, they weren't as grown as we wanted them to be, but we also did this a lot later than we normally would.
