Special Council Meeting Minutes 8-3-09 Page 2 • First Reading of Oa-dinance No. 2009-41, entitled, "An emergency ordinance authorizing the selection of Panzica Construction Company as the firm to provide design build services to the Village for the construction of the Village's police station and authorizing the Mayor to negotiate and enter into an agreement." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole. Mr. Marrie, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring an Ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. ROLL CALL: AYES: All NAYS: None Motion Carried Rules Suspended Mr. Marrie, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2009-41. Council President Buckholtz stated that we have members of the Panzica team present this evening. We did meet this past week to discuss moving the project forward and what we needed to get to this point. Council President Buckholtz added that he would just like to repeat to everyone that this is an ordinance to hand over to the Mayor and the Law Director the ability to negotiate a contract to ga forward with the police station. Council President Buckholtz welcomed the presenters to speak to Council and the audience and show the drawings they brought with them this evening. Presentation bv Representatives of Panzica Construction Company Mr. Allan Renzi of Richard L. Bowen & Associates introduced himself. He is an Architect and Principal with Bowen & Associates. With him this evening is Mr. Ken Emling and Mr. Pete DiFranco, Civil Engineer for Bowen & Associates. Mr. Bill Davis introduced himself. He is from Panzica Construction. He understands that there may be some questions about their process and current design. Allan, Ken and Pete have taken another scheme on our plan. They would like to show that to you in case you have any questions based on that. With regard to the location, Mr. Renzi stated you are all familiar with the ballfield on SOM. Council President Buckholtz stated that if anyone from the audience or Village employees would like to come around the other side and take a look, that's fine. It will be easier than passing them around.
