Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Apri124, 2006
Page 14

Motion to authorize expenditure in the amount of $24,384.93 to West Shore New
Holland, Inc. for tractor with loader attachment.
Mr. Marrie, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to authorize expenditure in the amount of
$24,384.93 to West Shore New Holland, Inc. for tractor with loader attachment.
Mr. Metzung indicated that this is to replace the tractor that has seen its demise. Mr. Saponaro
added that it went through state bid. Dr. Parker asked if we will get anything for the old tractor.
Mr. Metzung indicated that it will have to be auctioned off. It is worth more than $1,000.00. He
could request a trade-in value. If anyone is going to bid on it, it would be these guys. Mr.
Metzung had a discussion with Phil about purchasing a new gator and part of the bid offer that he
got for that included a trade-in of one of the old gators where $2,500.00 was offered for it. There
is no way anyone would ofFer that much at an action. Mr. Metzung talked to Phil, Council can
waive that. If it is over $1,000.00, 'the charter or codified ordinances require that it be put out to
public bid, but there is always the option to accept trade-ins. We have done that in the past. Mr.
Buckholtz suggested we approve on this and if you can come up with something. Mr. Metzung
indicated that if the trade-in seems appropriate, he would do that:
Mr. Buckholtz suggested the language be changed to not to exceed $24,384.93.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion.
