Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
May 22, 2006
Page 12
Council President Buckholtz indicated that this motion is to go out for bid and reminded
everyone that this Thursday will be the sewer liaison meeting to provide information to the
residents.
Mayor Rinker pointed out that the extent to which we have coordinated these projects over the
years have resulted in individual property owners bearing virtually identical costs. Each project
has its own barriers. For us to be able to reduce that down to a common denominator is good.
The problems we have had with Issue II funding is that they have changed the scoring on this.
You get competition with ODOT. Competition for those dollars is really tight. The other feature
of this is that this is vintage 1995 sanitary sewer relief fund dollars which basically was pledged
by Council for 20 years. Every bit of that is going to be used this year and next year when we
look at the other projects at Eastgate, Meadowwood and part of Thornapple which we hope to do
in conjunction with the County in reworking some of the forced mains.
Motion to authorize a change order in the amount of $7,500.00 to C.T. Consultants
for the lighting contract to add irrigation.
Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to authorize a change order in the amount
of $7,5000.00 to C.T. Consultants for the lighting contract to add irrigation.
Mr. Buckholtz asked if there was any further discussion. There were no comments.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Mr. Metzung apologized for the addition of this item, but when he initially did the lighting
contract, the person he worked with was a lighting contractor/engineer. This would add the
irrigation work that we planned on adding to the median.
Council President Buckholtz asked Mr. Diemert if this changes the bidding process. Mr.
Diemert indicated that it does not.
First Readiniz of Ordinance No. 2006-15, "An emergency ordinance amending Section 133.02
of the codified ordinances of Mayfield Village creating separate petty cash funds for the service
and building departments." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole.
Motion Carried
Change Order Authorized

Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council
requiring an Ordinance to be read on three separate occasions.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Rules Suspended

Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2006-15
