Kalina, M.A. <br />Director of Human Services <br />DEPARTMENT OF Fi1:JMAN SERVICES <br />COUNCIL REPORT FOR JULY 17, 2006 <br />An August calendar listing our ongoing activities is attached to my Council <br />report. I have also attached flyers for our upcoming computer training and tai chi classes. <br />On June 16, a group of seniors went to Medina where they enjoyed a delightful lunch at <br />Miss Molly's Tea Room, then went shopping. This past Wednesday, a group of seniors <br />accompanied a group from Parks & Recreation aboard the Adrian and Blissfield Railroad for an <br />exciting murder mystery luncheon trip. <br />Representatives from AARP will be conducting a Safe Driving Refresher Course for <br />seniors on July 19 and 26. We can take a few more seniors. Contact the Human Services <br />Department for more information and to register. <br />Next week I will be attending a meeting at the Cuyahoga County Board of Health offices <br />to begin work on this year's flu shot program. <br />Beginning August 2nd, seniors will be able to attend Tai Chi classes on Wednesdays <br />from 12:00-1:10 p.m. in the Village Community Room. <br />Our weekly programs continue: Games-Mondays 1-4 p.m.; Cards-Tuesdays & <br />Thursdays 1-4 p.m.; and Sociables-Thursday mornings from 9-11 a.m. <br />We are continuing our Movie Matinee Program at Governor's Village. Movies will be <br />shown on the first and third Wednesdays. Our seniors are invited to share camaraderie, snacks, <br />and a feature presentation. <br />If you have friends or neighbors age 60 or more, please encourage them to come solo or <br />bring a friend to any of our weekly programs or activities. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />`~ ~ ~• ~,~ <br />Alin-<-~ <br />Eunice G.
