Regular Council Meeting
1-29-07
Page 20
Council President Buckholtz asked if these will go back out to bid next year. Mr. Metzung
stated that they would. He further reported that he is attending a meeting on Wednesday of other
Cuyahoga County municipalities that are looking to form a consortium for rubbish collection.
We will see how that goes. We may join that or we may just go out on our own.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Expenditure Authorized
Motion to authorize acceptance of request of J&J Refuse for a price increase in the
amount of $0.50 per house, per month, effective January 1, 2007.
Motion Amended to Read:
"Motion to authorize acceptance of request of J&T Refuse for a price increase in the
amount of $0.39 per house, per month, effective JanuaYy 1, 2007."
Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to authorize acceptance of request of J&J
Refuse for a price increase in the amount of $0.39 per house, per month, effective January 1,
2007.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any additional discussion. Mr. Metzung stated
that if we are looking for some clarification on that, $0.06 of that per household is for a tipping
fee that was increased by Cuyahoga County Solid Waste. This is in conjunction with doing
some hazardous collection pick ups and things of that nature that they are going to be able to
provide better service. That is where $0.06 of that is going. The other $0.33 is for a fuel
surcharge increase for the company. When they bid this, they bid it at the low end. Now the
price of fuel has gone up so high. Frankly, they were probably working at a deficit in Mayfield
Village. Mr. Saponaro added that the net effect is $5,616.00. That is the increase annually.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Increase Authorized
Motion to authorize expenditure in the amount of $3,684.24 to White Water
Adventures for 2007 Trip for Teen Camp.
Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to authorize expenditure in the amount of
$3,684.24 to White Water Adventures for 2007 Trip for Teen Camp.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion. Mr. Saponaro explained that this
is a pass-through. We will collect the funds.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Expenditure Authorized
