It got to the point that we recognized we needed an architectural consultant on the books
for Mayfield Village and so this past year we have engaged Ron DiNardo as our consultant. He
more than earns his keep. His participation has and will be huge. It is fair for us to say that what
we want to do is good quality work. We try to make sure that the money we spend is done in a
way that is going to stand the test of time. The architectural standards within this community are
important to all of us. Ron knows that very well. We are lucky to have him. We appreciate it.
Board of Appeals
Pat Caticchio
Mayor Rinker stated that it is safe to say that the Board of Appeals also has a very
important task as we try to transition from a community that is about the same population today
as it was 40 years ago, but not the same as it was 40 years ago. 1Vluch of our code provisions are
pretty much what we put in 40 years ago with adjustments over time. One of the challenges with
ARB, Board of Appeals and Planning and Zoning is being able to reconcile what we have on the
books in trying to face changes and look at them in a way that we don't just keep changing with
the wind but that we try to administer the existing provisions we have as well. In fact one of the
themes we are going to be talking about tonight is looking at our code overall and considering
some new development strategies for the Village. When people are looking for variances from
our code, the Board of Appeals meets to review their requests. With a lot of rebuilding in our
community, especially in our neighborhoods, many of you may know Mr. Caticchio and fellow
Board members quite well. It is a very important task and we appreciate it.
