Regular Council Meeting
5-21-07
Page 6
OLD BUSINESS
OPEN PORTION - 3 minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first state
their name and address. This open portion is limited to discussion pertaining to the items under
"Old Business" only.
There were no comments.
NEW BUSINESS.
Motion to authorize expenditure in the amount of $4,268.00 to Creatave
Microsystems, Inc. (CMI) for payroll and finance software systems:
Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to authorize expenditure in the amount of
$4,268.00 to Creative Microsystems, Inc. (CMI) for payroll and finance software systems.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion.
Mr. Brett reported that this is anti-fraud software that prevents people from scanning in a copy of
one of our checks using erase functions of, for example, photoshop, and replacing it with
numbers and signatures of their own. What it does basically is send the database to the bank
recording all of the check numbers and the dollar amounts corresponding to those check numbers
so that if a check with a particular number comes in with an amount not on the register, it will be
refused. This is just another precaution that we are taking against identity theft or forgery. Dr.
Parker asked if it is an annual charge. Mr. Brett stated that this is a one-time set up charge.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Expenditure Authorized
Motion to authorize an expenditure in the amount of $9,884.00 to Gates li'IcDonald
for 2008 Workers' Compensation enrollment fee.
Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to authorize an expenditure in the
amount of $9,884.00 to Gates McDonald for 2008 Workers' Compensation enrollment fee.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion.
Mr. Brett reported that this saves us $72,000.00.
