Minutes of the Council Meeting
September 24, 2007
Page 7
Planning and Zoning - Mr. Marquardt reported that Planning and Zoning met on September
l Ot' and voted on the Altercare expansion of their physical therapy area.
Recreation Board - Mr. Marrie reported that a meeting was held on September 19t". Sean
Supler went over the programs for the adults and youth. All of them were full; soccer, bocce,
softball. The leagues all went well. No real big problems. Dave Perout reviewed the pool stats.
It was a good summer. The big surprise was the scuba which was called "Just Add Water". It
was extremely well received. They were standing in line for that. They will be expanding on that
even more so next year. The finals on the pool this year were 22,836 people compared to
22,110 last year. That's not a huge increase, but an increase. 2005 set the benchmark at 26,000,
but if you remember, that was a long hot summer. That threw the percentage off. They
discussed the rental fee from $110.00 to $150.00 for private rental of the pool. They also
discussed Wiley Park rental fee for non-Village residents living in the school district. The Board
asked about the concession stand and bathrooms at Parkview. Bill assured them that it was not in
the near future and not in the budget at this time. There are other things which need to be done
such as the scorekeeper tower to protect the equipment.
SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS:
2020 Vision Committee - There was no report. Thank you to Diane Calta for all her work and the
Department Heads for their cooperation in this matter. Without their help, we could not have
been able to facilitate this as easily as we did..
