All went well.
Our Senior Speakers Series continued with presentations by Nova Care and the Red Cross. We
have scheduled several programs in 2008 of this same informational nature on Wednesday afternoons at
2 p.m.
We had luncheons for our walking group and a Halloween luncheon for the Card Group. We
will have a Holiday Luncheon for the Card Group December 18.
Ongoing activities in addition to the Card Group include Monday aftemoon Games and Puzzles,
Painting, Speaker Series, Computer Classes, ABC Village Quilters, and Wood Carving in addition to our
joint ventures with Mayfield Community Education. In 2008, we'll add cooking classes and bridge
lessons.
November 9 we visited Buhl Mansion and Tara in Pennsylvania. This Wednesday evening we
travel to Playhouse Square for The Nutcracker ballet. Two trips are already on the calendar for 2008.
Our pilot leaf raking program was well received by the residents. A random drawing was held of
the 29 entries received with five winners selected to date. The wonderful cooperation exhibited by Paul
Lynch and The Venture Club and other volunteers and Kim Judson and the students from the Gates
Mills Horticulture program makes us optimistic that this program could continue and expand next year.
On November 20 and tomorrow (the 27th) thirteen seniors participated in an intergenerational
program with fourth graders from Center School. This stimulating event was a delightful hour for all.
We had programs of this nature several years ago and are happy to be doing this again.
Our next major event is our annual holiday party December 15. The caterer, entertainment,
Santa, and favors are in place and we are looking forward to a festive event. Senior residents (ages 60
and over) should contact us by Wednesday, December 5 to make a reservation.
RespECtfully submitted,
p
1 ^ n
W 41 0,-
Eunice G.
