Minutes of the Council Meeting <br />December 17, 2007 <br />Page 19 <br /> <br /> <br />First Reading of Ordinance No. 2007-29, entitled: "An emergency ordinance authorizing the <br />Mayor to enter into a purchase agreement for the acquisition of permanent parcel no. 831-24-001 <br />on the northeast corner of SOM Center Road and Thornapple Drive, Mayfield Village, Ohio." <br />Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole. <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council <br />requiring an Ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Dr. Parker?, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2007-29. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion. There was none. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Enacted <br />CLOSING COMMENTS <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any additional comments. <br />Mrs. Kalina wished everyone a Happy Holiday and Happy New Year to all. <br />Chief Dearden wished all a Happy Holiday. <br />Chief Mohr added, and to all a good night. <br />Mrs. Betsa wished everyone a Happy Holiday. <br />Mr. Marquardt thanked Mrs. Mills for the lovely gifts. <br />Mrs. Mills wished everyone a good holiday. <br />Dr. Parker commended Mrs. Mills and the committee for such a well-done job with the <br />Menorah Lighting Ceremony. The affair afterwaxds was very nice. Dr. Parker also mentioned <br />that the Mayor's letter regarding concerns of the Beechhill residents regarding oil and gas <br />drilling was well written. Thank you very much. <br />Mr. Brett wished there was discussion about the U.R.S. proposal so that it could have <br />been pointed out to the public that it will represent an expenditure of less than $14,000.00 of <br />public funds and 80% will be funded by a grant of $41,000.00. It is essentially $14,000.00 <br />leveraging $41,000.00.
