(Law Director)
Council President Saponaro stated, we did not have a discussion on whether this needs to go on
three reads or if it has to be passed by the end of the year. My understanding is it needs to pass
because it was voted in.
Mr. Diemert replied, it has already been adopted by the voters. Our Codified Ordinances are in
conflict with the voter amendments to the Charter. We ought to conform the two. Council can
always come back and revisit it and make other changes.
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council
requiring an Ordinance to be read on three separate occasions.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carried
NAYS: None Rules Suspended
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2016-31.
Council President Saponaro asked, discussion? Again, this is to conform with the will of
the people in the vote of the election that passed this Ordinance.
