These efforts, which <br />are in their nascent stages, include meeting with con7inunity groups, arts groups, businesses and <br />others to explore sponsorships and other methods of obtaining fuiiding. <br />Seniors. Donna Heath oversees a range of programs and services dedicated to our growing <br />senior population. We also belong to a local consortium, the Community Partnership on Aging, <br />which supplements our services with their own, including social worker evaluations where <br />appropriate. The problem is; despite our substantial nuinber of seniors, our usage of these <br />prograins is too low. Ms. Heath and I are working hard to increase participation in our senior <br />prograins, which offer exceptional resources and benefits. Please read Ms. Heath's article, fill <br />out and return the survey you recently received, and mark your calendars for our senior fair open <br />house on Friday, Aug 26. <br />Summarv. Ohio law dictates how we can spend our tax dollars. A watchful eye helps us to <br />identify what trends and issues may be ahead in the road for us. The principle of stewardship <br />constrains us to use tax dollars wisely and in the best interest of the coimnunity. And respect for <br />each other and a love for Mayfield Village enables us to make good decisions which allow us to <br />enjoy our life in the Village now, and preserve it for the future. <br />I am pleased to report that Mayfield Village is in good shape and capable hands. I thank those <br />before me whose efforts and foresight navigated us tlu-ough good and not-as-good tiines and <br />whose far-sighted vision and grace drove us to this place of quiet success. And I pledge to <br />continue to work hard with a very hard working Council as well as our top-notch crew here to <br />steer Mayfield Village successfully into the future. <br />Please plan to attend the Town Hall Meeting scheduled for May 23rd, 2016 at 7 p.in., where we <br />will discuss the Village finances in greater detail and take your questions. Thank you. <br />[The audience applauded]. <br />Administration of Oaths of Office <br />- Firefighter Reed Ruthenberg <br />Mayor Bodnar stated, and now our next order of business is I am going to adininister the oath of <br />office to Firefighter Reed Ruthenberg. Reed if you would step forward please? Could you <br />please raise your right hand? Would you like your fiance to place your pin on you after you have <br />been sworn in? <br />Mr. Ruthenberg replied, yes. <br />Mayor Bodnar asked, do you want to have her come up also then? (inaudible regarding pinning) <br />- but don't worry, there's paramedics in the audience.
