ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carried% NAYS: None . 1Vlinutes Approved COMMENTS FROM MAYOR RINKER Mayor Rinker welcomed all to 2012. I think we all enjoy public service and the challenge it presents. A lot of you aze coming back renewing. the effort. In all candor, it's important work. Goverrunent works well when everyone gets involved. Hopefully we can all express oiu points of view and we can work together collectively to get a lot of things done. I think in many respects we've done it. One of the nice things I like about this meeting, it's one of the few times in the yeaz, it may be the only time of the year when there are more people sitting in the audience than are taking roll call, so it's a good oppofianity.. . I thought I would give a little bit of a preview. Ron Wytuie our Finance Director has been publishing on a regular basis monthly reports that really track how our monies are coming in and going out. I wanted to note a few highlights. In the Spring, last year in April, we wrote about it collectively, where we stand since 2009. I am going to touch upon that briefly here. I think it's noteworthy. For income tax collected: 2009 -$9.5 million; 2010 -- $10.8 million - that was reflecting about a million dollar increase after the rate was increased when voters approved that in May of 2010;
