Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, September 17, 2012
Page 13
One thing I want to point out for everyone is that you will note that this year our expenditures are
higher than last year and the primary reason is, and Ron lists a few of them, but I think that it's
important for the community to recognize that we have really endeavored to look at capital
projects on a pretty aggressive way so even though, for example, Mrs. Murphy brought up a
request regarding a road improvement in her neighborhood and it's something we look at
seriously, I think we can say candidly we have gotten to a point where we feel much more
comfortable on tracking on a year in year out basis major projects such as these and then also a
lot of miscellaneous other projects, between Drainage and Infrastructure Committee and different
organizations. We had thought we were going to make improvements, for example, up to the
ballfields. That had to be shelved for this year, but that will be back on the table again in the
Spring I expect.
So I think we have really been able to demonstrate that we have a pretty good specrium of capital
improvements. These are ways that we feel that we are using our revenues wisely reinvesting in
the community. I think any questions that people have, certainly raise them with Council, you
can raise them with us. If we don't answer them, we definitely need to follow up. But I feel
really quite buoyed by the fact that we are still showing on a month to month basis a net increase
in revenues that we are able to store away, reduce our debt and still make sure that we are taking
care of these kinds of capital improvements. It's a nice pace that we really want to try to
maintain.
Council President Pro Tem IViarrie thanked Mayor Rinlcer. Does anyone else have any
comments? There were none.
ADJOURNMENT
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to adjourn.
The meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m. The next Council meeting is scheduled for Monday,
October 15, 2012 at 8:00 p.m.
WILLIAM BUCKHOLTZ, COUNCIL
BRUCE G.
y ?.
,
MARY BETSA, CLERK OF COUNCIL
