Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />Monday, July 21, 2014 <br />Page 6 <br />Mr. Jerome asked, with regard to the pool, the amount of people that go compared to capacity, <br />we are pretty strong and are doing good? <br />Mr. Thomas replied, for the month of June. It all depends on weather. <br />Mr. Jerome stated, so every yeax it fluctuates. But overall, since Parkview Pool opened, it has <br />been very well attended? <br />Mr. Thomas replied, I think so. We get a lot of evening rentals. I remember 16 years ago sitting <br />in the back Council room with Council asking whether it is worth having lights for night <br />swimming? The experience I had in other communities I worked was very successful. Just <br />about every weekend there is an association or private party using it. From that standpoint, we <br />do well. The numbers depend on the weather. We have Progressive employees that use it. We <br />opened it up to their fatnilies. It is well attended by them. <br />Mr. Jerome stated, the more people helps with passes. <br />Mr. Thomas replied, we also open it up to the school district. Anyone out of the district pays <br />$10.00. <br />Mr. Jerome asked, they would have to be a guest of someone from the school district? Not just <br />anyone can show up and get in? <br />Mr. Thomas replied, depending on our enrollment, we can allow non-school district residents. <br />We charge them $10. We also use it for camps. <br />Mr. Jerome stated, it's nice to get as much use out of it as you can. <br />Mrs. Mills asked, what was the swim meet on Sunday? <br />Mr. Thomas replied, that was the Summer Sizzler. We had about 200 swimmers. <br />ARCHITECT - Ron Dinardo <br />There was no report. <br />PLANIVING DEPARTMENT - Ted Esborn <br />Mr. Esborn reported, the SWIF grant is on the agenda for this evening. I will'talk about it then. <br />ADMINISTRATION - Diane WolLyamuth <br />Ms. Wolgamuth reported, the gentlemen from the Conservatory for Performing Arts are finally <br />getting going here.
