Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council . <br />Monday; August 18, 2014 <br />Page 2 <br />PRESENTATION BY COUNCILMAN JEROME SL1Iyl:MARIZING WORK SESSIONS IN <br />WASHINGTON D.C. ABOUT THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION'S EFFORTS AGAINST <br />FRAUD, JUMP START'S PROCESS FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, AND THE DRUG <br />ENFORCEMENT AGENCY' S FIGHT ON HEROIN <br />Councilman Jerome provided a powerpoint presentation sununarizing recent work sessions attended <br />by him in at the Northeast Oluo Elected Official's Conference in Washington, D.C. Councilman <br />Jeroine's presentation briefly summarized the FTC's efforts against fraud, Jump Start's process for <br />economic development and the DEA's fight on heroin. A copy of this powerpoint is available on <br />request. <br />Councilman Jerome thanked the Greater Cleveland Partnership, Westfield Companies and Dominion <br />for being a sponsor to this event. Overall it was a great experience. A lot of other local officials <br />from Northeast Oluo attended. I also met different business representatives, including a NOACA <br />representative who brought up transportation issues. I was glad I was able to go. Hopefully if they <br />put it on again next year, I can go again acid leans a little more and bring it back to you guys. <br />With regard to the summary on the DEA's fight on heroin, Chief Edelman reported, up to now we <br />have been doing a twice a year program of turning in old medication.
