Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, December 16, 2013
Page 16
Mayor Rinker'stated, this is another one of those evenings and I think the time of the year is
particularly symbolic as we usher out one era and usher in a new era. As you all have been able
to 'catch on, Joanne Cinco, our At-Large Councilwoman for the last 26 years, I have to say this to
be gauche, but you were elected before I was appointed, but I started before you. We worked
side by side on a lot of projects and most people on Council can attest to the fact, and we aze
going to put it to vote in just a minute, but I think we all really owe a lot of gratitude and
appxeciation for Joanne's work.
Mrs. Cinco presented a photograph dated January l, 1988 of her swearing in ceremony
Resolution No. 2013-18, entitled, "Resolution of Appreciation to Joanne Cinco". Introduced by
Mayor and Council as a Whole. •
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 2013-18.
Council President Buckholtz congratulated Mrs. Cinco.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Resolution Adopted

Mayor Rinker thanked Mrs. Cinco and presented her with the Resolution.
Swearing-In Ceremonv and Administration of Oath of Office to
Fire Chief Eugene Carcioppolo
Mayor Rinker stated, as many of us do know, when this year began, Dave Mohr retired as our
Fire Chief of some 33 years. That's a long tenure and the transition since that time has really
challenged all of us as we look toward the future. As I commented a moment ago that we are
ending one era, we know that we are starting another era. I can only say this, Gino Carcioppolo
has exhibited not only professional trauung but he is professional in word and deed. All of the
firefighters here present and anyone in the community can be very proud and very confident that
our Fire Department is in good hands with the personnel that has served us so unselfishly. They
have a leader. The body has a head and we are really proud to usher in a new Chief and may he
last for 33 years.
With that, Interim Chief, we want you to come up here and change that title.
Mayor Rinker administered the Oath of Office to Eugene Carcioppolo as Fire Chief for Mayfield
Village.
