Caucus/Regular Council Mtg. <br />7-14-03 <br />Page 22 <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marne, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2003-27. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked, has everybody had a chance to read and is clear on what the <br />modifications are? <br />Several affirmative comments were made. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Enacted <br />First Reading of Ordinance No. 2003-28, entitled; "An emergency ordinance adopting a tax <br />budget for Mayfield Village, Ohio for the tax year 2004." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and <br />Council as a Whole. (Public Hearing held earlier this evening) <br />Dr. Parker, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring an <br />ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Dr. Parker, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2003-28. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion. There were none. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Enacted <br />Resolution No. 2003-02, entitled; "An emergency resolution supporting the financing and <br />construction of a new Convention Center in downtown Cleveland." Introduced by Mayor Rinker <br />and Council as a Whole. <br />Council President Buckholtz said I am looking for a motion to pass. <br />Mrs. Mills said we had some discussion [in Finance/S&S] about maybe it was the wordage and <br />the committee was concerned (and those present) about the fact that it says in downtown <br />Cleveland-we were thinking more in lines of Cuyahoga County. Is there such a thing that-is <br />it cut in stone that it has to be in downtown Cleveland because you have gone to these <br />meetings and we have not. That makes all the difference in the world when you don't have the <br />ability to be at those meetings. <br />Mayor Rinker replied yes. They have gone through a pretty extensive site selection and the front <br />runner is the one that is behind Tower City. The one that has been looked at the longest and still <br />" is tied into at least what is under consideration now, is the restoration of the mall site-Mall C- <br />
