But if a tornado is sighted in Lake County that is very
close to us, we are not going to be responsible and monitor it. So I don't understand that.
')
Chief Mohr said the County has an emergency operations center which is over behind Lakeland.
They monitor all of Lake County. To condense this down in a meeting, I guess every County is
responsible for their own jurisdiction. I am looking out for Mayfield Village and what occurs in
Mayfield Village. So if there is a warning issued by National Weather for Cuyahoga County,
specific to the eastern end of Cuyahoga County, the Hillcrest area, the Heights region, that siren I am
recommending be sounded.
Dr. Parker asked, now if there's a tornado for Lake County that is close to us, how are we going to
either monitor that or know?
Chief Mohr said---other than the radio system. We are going to buy a weather radio.
Dr. Parker asked, so Cuyahoga County is going to pick that up is what you are saying.
Chief Mohr replied absolutely. We have radar now in the dispatch center that they can actually
watch stuff now. They can turn it on and actually see storms.
Dr. Parker said thank you for clarifying that.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
^ A motion to authorize an expenditure in an amount not to exceed X0;009 to Statewide
Ford for the purchase of I'eu~-~4} Ford Crown Vic Interceptors police cars
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to amend the agenda so the above motion will
read $60,000 instead of $80,000 to Statewide Ford for three (3) cars instead of four (4.)
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Expenditure Authorized
Motion Carried
Expenditure Authorized
A motion to authorize an expenditure in the amount of $15,626.00 to Southeast Harley-
Davidson for the purchase of one (1) Harley-Davidson motorcycle for the Police
Department
_%
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to authorize an expenditure in the amount of
$15,626.00 to Southeast Harley- Davidson for the purchase of one (1)Harley-Davidson motorcycle
for the Police Department.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion.
