Minutes of the Regulax Meeting of Council
Monday, May 18, 2015
Page 4
Mr. Kane stated, I have one inore real quick comment. When I lived in Bloomington, hldiana and
worked for the city, we did leaf pick-up. I was one of the workers with a rake. We had scheduled
days.
Council Presideiit Buckholtz stated, thank you. Does anyone else want to address Council'? There
were no further coinments.
COIVSIDERA'TIO1V OF 1VIINUT'ES :
Regular Council Meetin2 -Apri120, 2015
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Jeroine, inade a inotion to approve the minutes as written.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carried
NAYS: None Minutes Approved
As Written
COMMENTS FROM MAYOR RINKER
There were no coinments.
COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT SUCHI30LTZ
There were no comments.
DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS:
SERVICE - Douglas Metzun?
Mr. Metzung stated, we would like to report that this week is National Public Works Week. If
you see a sewer guy out there, give him a hug. We received our bids in for the summer salt fill
this year. They came back in at $80 a ton. Last year they were at $49 a ton. It's a significant
difference. That will be on next month's agenda to authorize the purchase of the salt.
Dr. Parker asked, is there a salt shortage that's causing the price to go up? Why is it so much
higher?
Mr. Metzung replied, I can't answer that. In this area, Cargill did not bid. They are a big player
in this area. Whether or not Morton and the others took advantage of that, I don't know.
SUILDING - John Marrelli
There was nothing to report.
