Regular Counci] Meeting Minutes <br />3-15-10 <br />Page 7 <br />Planninst and Zoniniz - Mr. Marquardt reported that Planning and Zoning met on March lst <br />There was one item on the agenda which was a conditional use permit for Health 360. That <br />conditional use permit was approved. <br />RecreaNon Board - Mr. Marrie reported that the Recreation Board will meet on the 24th of this <br />month. The discussion will be finalizing the plans for the Easter Egg Hunt and Party for the <br />children. Summer camps will also be discussed. Updates on the Debbie Hudacko Scholarship <br />will also be an agenda item. The Spring brochure is out. Everyone should have received a <br />memo from Bill which was brought up at the last meeting about staffing the pool and the <br />lifeguards. You should have the comments and the layout of the pool diagramming where the <br />guards are and why they are there. The rules were also included, showing how many we need to <br />have by state law. <br />Council President Buckholtz thanked Mr. Thomas for the memo. He read this very carefully and <br />really closely. He goes to the pools sporadically and at odd hours. He is the one that put out <br />mincing words like, it seems like you always see kids eating pizza and sitting around. This really <br />cleared it up for him. He talked to Dave who provided a lot of input. Council President <br />Buckholtz talked to Mr. Thomas and his staff. It really explains what you are doing and how you <br />are doing it. He has no further questions on that. <br />Mr. Thomas stated that he also prepared a memo responding to the questions concerning the <br />summer camp. He hopes it clarified everything. Mayor Rinker added, there are two instances <br />where Council has raised questions and we had an opportunity to come back and provide the <br />information. It does create a good dialogue. Sometimes it gets a little rough around the edges or <br />we don't always quite get in sync, but it's nice to see that eventually we get there. That was <br />good effort. <br />SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />Planning Develonment Committee - An organizational meeting will be scheduled. The <br />Committee is moving more under a departmental structural thing. Council President Buckholtz <br />is not sure if anyone had a chance to see the e-mail sent by Diane. Mayor Rinker stated, it's fair <br />to call it a re-work in progress. <br />Information & Technolozy - Council President Buckholtz reported that we have the test <br />phones in place. You can now call just about any County agency from our phones here by <br />dialing only 4 numbers instead of 7 or 10. The phones axe working well. They are clear and <br />fine. This is moving forward as scheduled. <br />Records Commission - Mrs. Mills reported that on the lOth of this month, the Auditor provided <br />a training session on House Bill 9 in Reserve Hall. There were about 180 people in attendance. <br />It was a very good seminar. It was three hours long. It was not boring. There were only a few <br />seats left. Mayor Rinker commented, it is gratifying to hear that. Mrs. Mills said, it really was a
