Regular Council Meeting Minutes
3-15-10
Page 9
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion.
Mr. Jeff Thomas prepared a memorandum responding to the questions from Caucus.
Dr. Parker stated another good follow-up report.
For the record, Mr. Saponaro reiterated that this involves 157 e-mail accounts, roughly about
$25.00 per account. It also provides the filter for incoming and outgoing mail so that our e-mail
account is not viewed as spam and we have better communications both ways. Thanks for the
report.
Roll Call: AYES: All Motion Carried
NAYS: None Expenditure Authorized
Motion to authorize expenditure in the amount of $2,500.00 to Mayfield Township
Historical Society for donation for maintenance and preservation of Bennett
VanCuren Museum.
Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to authorize an expenditure in the
amount of $2,500.00 to Mayfield Township Historical Society for donation for maintenance and
preservation of Bennett VanCuren Museum.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion. There was none.
Roll Call: AYES: All Motion Carried
NAYS: None Expenditure Authorized
Mrs. Mills thanked everyone on behalf of the Historical Society.
Motion to authorize expenditure in the amount of $17,000.00 to SPAN for yearly
contribution.
Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to authorize an expenditure in the amount
of $17,000.00 to SPAN for yearly contribution.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion. This is up just a little bit from
last year.
Mr. Saponaro stated this was discussed at Finance. Mr. Maxquardt brought something up in
Caucus and then during Finance. The concern with that is the annual contribution was
$14,000.00. There is a$3,000.00 assessment. Don was kind enough to explain how that worked
and what it's for. That's not the issue. The issue was should there be a new allocation based on
population versus just taking the pot and splitting it however many ways? Understanding from
Don that actually is something that the Mayors discuss and approve in their meeting, our
decision was to ask the Mayor to discuss the allocation of the fees being charged.
