Regular Council Meeting Minutes <br />4-19-10 <br />Page 3 <br />ARCHITECT - Ron Dinardo <br />There was no report. <br />HUMAN SERVICES - Eunice KaIina <br />Mrs. Kalina reported that we have a little group going down to The Cleveland Playhouse this <br />Thursday to see Bill W. and Dr. Bob regarding the formation of AA and Al-Anon. We aze <br />working on our party for May I5d`. Reminder - Operation Medicine Cabinet on May 8`h from <br />9:00-2:00 in this parking lot in conjunction with the Sheriff's office and Home Instead Senior <br />Care. The medicine cabinet is a good source of drugs for people who are looking to abuse. We <br />have a Senior Speaker this Wednesday from Crossroads Hospice about Anticipatory Grief, <br />something everyone does not want to face, but if you know you are going to, it's a good idea to <br />be prepared. <br />Council President Buckholtz had one late comment. Last Saturday was a showing of the <br />Fairmount Center play here. He didn't make it, but he just wondered how it was. Mayor Rinker <br />stated the turnout was lower for this one. There were about 60 people there. Diane made it. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked how many more shows there were. Mr. Saponaro replied, <br />it's through May 2"d. Council President Buckholtz stated, it's supposed to be a great show. Mr. <br />Saponaro stated it is sponsored by the Center for Eating Disorders, U-H's Geauga Campus, <br />Fairmount and other sponsors. Council President Buckholtz asked if it is just Saturday night. <br />Mr. Saponaro replied, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and a Sunda.y matinee. Council President <br />Buckholtz replied, so we have two weeks left. Great. Thank you. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />Activities Committee - Mrs. Mills reminded everyone of the Mother's Day Pancake Breakfast <br />on May 9. She hopes everyone has signed up. The Cammittee talked about the Summer <br />Concerts. Mr. Thomas has all of the bands secured. We talked about Cruise Night. Our <br />Committee has some definite ideas on that which we are going to work on. Cruise Night is 7une <br />12th. We talked about the Fourth of July Celebration on July 3`d. The fireworks aze in place. Our <br />next rneeting is May 18th. <br />Architectural Review Board - There was no meeting. There is no report. <br />Beautification Committee - Mr. Marrelli reported that the Beautifica.tion Committee met on the <br />13 . There were a couple of items discussed, primarily the Arbor Day Proclamation which the <br />Mayor has declared Apri130th as Arbor Day. We will have tlus plus the planting of some trees to <br />maintain our Tree City standing. There are going to be a group of students that are going to do a <br />clean-up in an area of the high school. They are going to plant 8little trees like they have before. <br />We talked about the meetings of the Ordinance Review Committee. Joe will be there on the 25`h <br />of May which is the next meeting to discuss the possible changes in the Ordinance that the <br />Ordinance Review Committee has discussed. The Beautification Committee has not had a <br />chance to see it.
