Regular Council Meeting Minutes ' <br />4-19-10 <br />Page 5 . <br />Finance Committee - Mr. Saponaro reported that the Committee met in Caucus on April 1P <br />and then this evening for the Committee meeting. We had 12 expenditures on the agenda that we <br />approved and 2 Ordinances that were recommended. <br />Historical SocieEv - Mrs. Mills reported that there is a Board meeting tomonow night. A1 Muhle <br />has been working on the yard. He has fertilized and has been cutting the grass. We aze going to <br />get the gardens in shape. The Garden Club will start working the first of May. <br />Hilicrest Council of Councils - There was no report. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mr. Thomas reported that the M.A.R.C. Boazd met on Thursday, April 8Ih at the <br />Boazd of Education. D'uector Weinberg reported that the floor hockey for grades 1 and 2 and <br />grades 3, 4 and 5 were going well. The high school floor hockey program has three more weeks. <br />The outdoor flag football program was cancelled due to low enrollment. The City of Highland <br />Heights has approved a pernut allowing the use of their tennis courts for the women's tennis <br />program in the summertime. Mr. Thomas reported tilat the MBA went very well this year. The <br />next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 6d' at 7:00 p.m. at the Board. <br />Ordinance Review Cowmittee - Mr. Saponaro reported that Ordinance Review met on April <br />13 . The Minutes of that meeting will be transcribed and available shortly. The next meeting is <br />on May 11d`. <br />Planning and Zoning - There was no meeting. There is no report. <br />Recreation Board - Mr. Marrie reported that the Recreation Board will be meeting this <br />Wednesday. At the last meeting, we discussed the Easter Egg Hunt. There were about 90 <br />children who attended. Meg Stifler who is on the Board was the Chairman. She took care of just <br />about absolutely everything. We gat nuce PR from the Sun Messenger. We will be discussing the <br />Debbie Hudacko Scholazship Fund. Interviews will take place on Apri127th. The announcement <br />of the finalists who will receive the scholarships will be on May 280'. For the record, Mr. Mame <br />would like to congratutate the Rec Department, Bill, Sean and Danielle, on their Four-Star <br />Award received &om the StartSmart Sports for the little children. This is not just a U.S. <br />opera.tion, but it's actually international. There were only three awazds given in the State of Ohio. <br />We were one of three. We received the Four-Star Award, which is the highest of the three in the <br />State of Ohio. Nice going. <br />SPECTAL COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />Planning Develoament Committee - Council President Buckholtz stated there was no meeting, <br />but he would like to defer to Ted Esborn as it is more of a departmental matter now. <br />W. Esborn reported that the biggest update from Planning Development is that Mayfran <br />. International at 6650 Beta at the corner made a decision last Frida.y that they are going to become <br />the second subscriber on the Mayfield Village fiber ring.
