Minutes of the Organizational Meeting of Council
Monday, January 3, 2011
Page 3

?
OPEN PORTION - 3 minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish zo speak must first state
their name and address.
Council President Bill Buckholtz asked if there were any comments. There were none.
ANY OTHER MATTER THAT MAY COME BEFORE COUNCIL
Council President Buckholtz again thanked everyone.
Mayor Rinker stated, when we think about it and look back over the past several years, I think
that we can agree that Bill Buckholtz's tenure as Council President has really given us, I have
referred to this before as a good center of gravity. We have often had a lot of difFerent points of
view that are expressed. That's the purpose of any legislative body is to be able to air
differences, to have an open forum and I think we have been tested a number of times over the
past year especially and on each occasion I think we would agree that Mr. Buckholtz has been
diplomatic. And it helps. We haee had some rough meetings, times when tempers get high,
people can get testy, can get personal, and throughout Bill has always kept his equilibrium. So
for that, we thank you and the vote is an appropriate re-election.
AI)JOURNMENT
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to adjourn.
The meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m. The next Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday,
January 18, 20_?l at,8:00 p.n.) ? BUCKHOLTZ,

ENT
h4m"?,,,z ?
MARY . BETSA, CLERK OF UNCIL
BRUCE G. RINKER, MA
