MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />Mayfield Village Civic Hall <br />Monday, March 21, 2011- 8:00 p.m. <br />The Council of Mayfield Village met in regular session on Monday, March 21, 2011 at <br />8:20 p.m. at Mayfield Village Civic Hall. Council President Buckholtz called the meeting to <br />order. <br />ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Buckholtz, Mrs. Mills, Mr. Marrie <br />and Mr. Saponaro <br />Absent: Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Marquardt and Dr. Parker <br />Also Present: Mr. Wynne, Ms. Calta, Mr. Cappello, <br />Lieutenant Edelman, Mr. Marrelli, Mr. Metzung, <br />Chief Mohr, Mr. Thomas, Mr. Dinardo, <br />Mrs. Kalina and Mrs. Betsa <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given. <br />OP?N PQRTION <br />5-minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first state their name and address. <br />Rav Koren <br />822 Hanover <br />I would like to take just a few minutes to express the concerns that many of us have regarding the <br />long-range financial future of Mayfield Village, especially in view of what's happening in the <br />country today and specifically the $13, $14 million debt that we are carrying at the present time and <br />also our ability to maintain services in the future. John Ranallo, who is a CPA and Auditor is on <br />assignment or otherwise he would be giving this presentation because he is a better expert than I am <br />on this particular subject. Although he or Dave and I cannot attend the Citizen's Advisory Committee <br />tomorrow because of prior commitments, we are going to try to have somebody in the future at a11 <br />pertinent meetings. <br />Let me say that, first of a11, we a11 have the utmost respect for everybody here on Council and think <br />that Mayfield Village is the finest community in Cuyahoga County. That said, we would like to see <br />us reduce the debt as soon as possible and be sure that all future projects are necessary and <br />financially feasible. I don't recall from my 5t' grade Civics class exactly how we do this but I'm sure <br />that we will be informed. <br />I personally am concerned about Progressive being such a great part of our income. I trust from what <br />I hear that we have a good relationship with them, but change all but happens that are beyond our <br />control. I was a General Manager for a major insurance company for many years and I personally
