Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, March 21, 2011
Page 3
Me S? tifler
828 Worton Park Drive
I have been a Village resident for 19 years and a member of the Paxks and Recreation Board for
15 years. I have a 12-year-old son. He is on the Mayfield Travel Soccer Team. This is in
regards to the Progressive field and the potential of moving the trailer on to those fields.
I was a Girl Scout. I did a lot of camping. I have gotten used to not always having pampered
conditions when nature calls, but port-a-potties are only an acceptable alternative to use during
construction projects and temporary events, in my opinion. The plastic that they are made of is
stifling when you walk into them in the warmer months. My son runs to the far end of the soccer
fields into the woods rather than use them. There's a lot of parents and grandparents that come
to these things and I am sure many who don't come because the proper facilities aren't there.
Utilizing the trailer from the police station has so many possibilities and uses. After all the years
that these fields have been in use, it's time to make them a pleasant place to come by adding
some basic human needs. Thank you.
Kate Sullivan
513 Zorn Lane
. I am a long-time member of the Rec Board also. I have four children. We have had the
opportunity while they were growing up to also participate in the club or travel soccer. We also
had the opportunity to see many facilities all over Northern Ohio. Some good, some not so good.
When Bill told us about Doug's suggestion to use the trailer, I got very excited. I am very
supportive of that. I am hoping that you also take a serious look at moving this forward as fast as
possible. Thank you.
Peggv Kerver
6867 Wildwood Trail
I am a member of the Parks and Recreation Board. I am here basically to support Bill Thomas. I
am for moving the trailer to Progressive field. The reason being, too, I ride my bike all over
Mayfield Village in the mornings and when the weather permits. Just taking an outside view of
things, if I was visiting or going to Progressive as somebody from the outside coming in, coming
to beautiful Mayfield Village, and you go down and see beautiful Progressive and then you see
port-a-potties. They are a huge eyesore. It's a reflection on the city. I think it's terrible.
Mayfield Village is a beautiful city and then you have port-a-potties sitting on the field by
Progressive. That can all be altered by putting the trailer there. It would also help the Soccer
Clubs a tremendous amount. It would also help to meet basic human needs. I don't think
anyone should go in a port-a-potty. I would not go in a port-a-potty. The kids are in the woods
half the time using those as facilities. I think we should change that. Thank you.
