Radio
signals within these buildings are becoming harder and harder to get out. Our most recent
example is the Mayfield High Scho.ol is 400,000 square feet. If you walk into Mayfield
High School right now, you will lose your cellphone. Your cellphone goes dead as you
walk in the main doors of that building. That's also happening to our public safety
communications. With the recent additions coming, we have asked the architect to look
into putting in an EDA for fiber amplification within this building allowing public safety
communications to pass within the buildings to the outside world. This is unique, not to us
but everywhere in the United States. This is an occurrence that with the type building
materials that they are suggesting for this construction we felt it best to pass this. This is
also going to be in the 2009 International Code that hopefully Ohio will adopt either this
year or next year.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carried
NAYS: None Ordinance Enacted
