Minutes of the Special Meeting of Council
7-5-11
Page 2
? First Reading of Orcliraance Noe 2011-29, entitled, "An emergency ordinance adopting
a tax budget for Mayfield Village, Ohio for the tax year 2012." Introduced by Mayor
Rinker and Council as a Whole.
Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council
requiring an Ordinance to be read on three separate occasions.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Rules Suspended
Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2011-29.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion.
Mr. Wynne reported, this is called the Alternative Tax Budget for the County. It is a
requirement that is due about this time every year. It has to be filed with the County by
July 20th. They use it for purposes of certifying what the tax bills will be for real estate
purposes next year. The main reason they want to know is for allocating the tax money the
same way we have in the past goirig to the General Fund, Debt Retirement Fund, Police
Operating and Pension Fund. So this lets you know that we are not changing how we are
allocating our money. We are going to keep it the same. We also provide them with a real
rough revenue and expense budget for 2012. When I prepared that, I used the same budget
we used for 2011 and backed out the one-time items that won't be happening again and
also backed out the impact of the State budget cuts for the budget that was just passed.
Those are reflected in the numbers. It's real rough. It by no means sets the budget for
2012 for us. We will do that at the end of this year. This is just to help the County certify
the property tax bills and get them ready for distribution at the end of this year.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any questions. There were none.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Ordinance Enacted
• Second Reaclinlz of Ordinanee No. 2011-28, entitled, "An ordinance revising the zone
map of Mayfield Village so as to amend the use classification of 1.28 acres of land
located on the south side of Wilson Mills Road east of SOM Center Road and known as
Permanent Parcel Numbers 831-39-010 and 831-39-009 from its current classification of
U-1 residential district to local business." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a
Whole. (First Reading - June 20, 2011)
This will be left on Second Read.

Mayor Rinker advised that we have to set a Public Hearing. The deadline for filing for the
November 8, 2011 Election is September 9, 2011.
