Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />Monday, September 19, 2011 <br />Page 9 <br />. Motion to authorize expenditure in the amount of $13,948.00 to BRK/First Alert for <br />smoke alarms. (634 smoke alarms - pass through $10,296.00; $3,652.00 subsidized). <br />Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Mr. Marrie; made a motion to authorize expenditure in the amount of <br />$13,948.00 to BRK/First Alert for smoke alarms. (634 smoke alarms - pass through $10,296.00; <br />$3,652.00 subsidized). ' <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if tliere was any discussion. It was a very successful program. <br />Chief Mohr replied, it was 166 homes. <br />Dr. Parker commented to the Chief, you did a great job with that. If anything, it will obviously <br />save potentially a tremendous number of lives as well as a lot of costs on our end too if we can <br />avoid these kind of problems early. Thank you. <br />Chief Mohr hopes to hold this event annually around Fire Prevention Week. It goes hand in <br />hand. It's perfect. It will take about three weeks to get these detectors in. <br />Mr. Saponaro asked, for the folks who didn't take advantage and may want to later down the <br />road,'can we provide them with the ability to purchase them or where they can purchase them? I <br />know these are different from the units that you can get at Costco or places like that. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any other comments. There were none. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Authorized <br />Motion to authorize expenditure in the amount of $5,950 to Squire, Sanders & <br />Dempsey for legal services related to the 2011 issuance of $2.9 million Various <br />Purpose Improvement Notes. <br />Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to authorize expenditure in the amount of <br />$5,950 to Squire, Sanders & Dempsey for legal services related to the 2011 issuance of $2.9 <br />million Various Purpose Improvement Notes. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any comments. There were none. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All Motion Carried <br />NAYS: None Expenditure Authorized <br />. Motion to extend the TIF for Progressive unti12011. <br />Mr. Saponaro clarified to Council President Buckholtz, it should actually read, "Motion to <br />extend the TIF for Progressive for the tax year 2011, payable in 2012."
