Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council . . <br />Monday, October 17, 2011 <br />Page 2 <br />COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESII)ENT BUCKHOLTZ <br />There were no comments. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS: <br />SERVICE - DouElas Metzung <br />Mr. Metzung reported that it is my favorite time of year. Leaf season has begun. We will be at it <br />for at least the next six weeks, probably closer to eight. Also, last Friday Tom Cappello and <br />myself inet with the County Engineer regarding the residential flooding throughout the Village. <br />We mapped out some areas of concerns and some plans of attack as the e-mail suggested. We <br />will.be moving forward. We have also scheduled another meeting for November in which the <br />County will have representatives to discuss maybe a more proactive stormwater plan using their <br />maintenance personnel. We will be out doing some smoke testing initially and some dye testing. <br />We have a few other hydraulic issues that they are going to take a look at and see what we can <br />do. We will be meeting to discuss stormwater maintenance issues. <br />BUILDING - John Marrelli <br />Mr. Marrelli reminded everyone that at this Thursday's Planning Commission workshop there <br />are going to be three sizable projects, one being the Mayfield High School Wildcat Park, one <br />being the Library and the other the development on North Commons. <br />ENGINEERING - Tom Caupello <br />Mr. Cappello reported on the 2011 Street Program. Today they fmished pouring the first half of <br />the Aintree Park Drive entrance by Heinen's so we are halfway done with that concrete <br />replacement. We are also done with a majority of all of the base repairs and partial depths. They <br />started a chip seal of the existing roadway. They are going to put the intermediate course of <br />asphalt down tomorrow. Also, on the Wiley Field project, they removed the existing Service <br />Department Drive and installed the sub-base for the relocated drive. They are starting the work <br />on the pervious parking lot portion. <br />LEGAL DEPARTMENT - Joe Diemert <br />There was no report. <br />FIRE - Chief Mohr <br />Chief Mohr reported that the smoke detectors are in and are being picked up. We are already <br />getting inquiries about when we can do it again.
