Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />Monday, November 21, 2011 <br />Page 14 <br />Chief Mohr replied, yes. The citizens emergency response teams, CERT has been provided <br />by the County through Homeland Security $7,500 that will be split three ways between us, <br />Highland Heights and Mayfield Heights. This is for equipment and training of those <br />civilians participating in this training. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any other comments. There were none. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Enacted <br />First Readins! of Resolution No. 2011-12, entitled, "A Resolution opposing the State of <br />Ohio or any other third-party central collection entity from seeking to take control of <br />municipal income tax collection." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole. <br />Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 2011-12. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion. <br />Mr. Saponaro reported, this is something that Ron has pushed for and supported. Most recently, <br />the Auditor of the State of Ohio has sent a letter that it should not go to a third party or to the <br />State. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked, third party excludes RITA? <br />NIr. Wynne replied, RITA is local. <br />Mr. Saponaro added, RITA does it for us. We control it. <br />Council President Buckholtz stated right, the third party is not RITA. <br />Mr. Saponaro stated, yes, the State will take control of the way municipalities collect their <br />municipal income tax. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carried <br />NAYS: None Resolution Adopted <br />:, OTHER, 1VIATTERS : <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any other matters. <br />Council President Buckholtz stated, Mr. Marrie brought up in Citizen's Advisory the comments <br />about the turnout for the election.
