Minutes of a Public Hearing
October 6, 2010
Page 15
. Panel Discussion
Mayor Rinker replied, great, thank you. All right, for those of who that have to get away, we will
ask that you present your questions first and then I will leave it to the group, if you want to take a
break or we just continue. We have refreshments there and you are welcome to come and go as
you wish.
Q: I have a question for Professor Keller. I'm very familiar with the argument between
Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson. If I'm not mistaken, Thomas Jefferson was very afraid
of government that became too strong and did not respect the will of the people. You mentioned, the Charter of the State was able
to have, just had the oil thing that people were very upset about and we abrogated our
rights because the State Charter gives them the right to put oil wells and gas wells in our
community. We as the voters were not able to govern within our Village and I think it's
very dangerous to give up our vote. I think we are intelligent -
Mayor Rinker asked, do you have a question? '
Q: --Okay.
Mayor Rinker stated, sorry, but I really would like questions, thank you. But I am sure there are
a lot of people that share the sentiments. I'm very aware of that. But again, our goal here if we
