Mayfield Township. Historical Society
606 S.O.M. Center Road
Mayfield Village, Ohio 44143
(440-461-0055
September 26, 2005
We were happy to see a nice turn out for our Ice Cream Social this year. The
House tour saw many new faces who hadn't visited us before. One of our recent
third grade class visitors brought his Grandparents and did the tour for them from
what he had learned last spring. It is gratifying to know that what we offer the
community actually hits it mark.
The Raffle Quilt stayed close to home this year being won by our Council
president Bill Buckholz and his wife. The Table Cloth was awarded to John &
Helen Moore of Gates Mills.
We have our new exhibit, Toys I Remember, being set up, now, at the
Historic House. The display opens this Sunday at 2:00 pm, October 2. It is a
nostalgic look into our own childhood, with Toys of years past. We promise, no
Video Games! Admission $3.00 Adults - $1.50 -12 and under.
Keeping tabs on the progress of our 1858 Cuyahoga County Map - We have
a small scale fax showing the minute detail work being done & to be finished by
Myron Studio restorers.
Our newly installed Instant Heat Hot water unit is working well. It is more
efficient for use at the Historic House. We have hot water only on days we need it.
Our fund raisers will be used for this project.
